Fun way of decanting wine Nov 16, 2011
By GrillMaster
"Phil"
My wife and I saw this product being used at a winery in Napa Valley and it was a real eye-catcher. You literally place the carafe on top of the open wine bottle, then invert it and watch the wine cascade down the sides of the carafe, vastly accelerating aeration. You can then serve the wine directly from the carafe, or reverse the process and pour the wine back into the bottle for serving. It's great with a young wine that needs to breathe. It is not appropriate for older wines, or any wine with sediment, as it will disturb the sediment and mix it in the wine. Those should be decanted in the traditional way, very slowly. We've used the carafe at parties and it fascinates everyone. It's a lot of fun to use. And no, we've never spilled a drop!

It works Mar 09, 2012
By NormalGuy I first read about this in a wine section of a local newspaper. I found the best price here on Amazon and went ahead and ordered it. At first I was skeptical but after running a few bottles through it, I'm convinced that it works better than my venturi. The only thing I don't like is the thickness of the glass, although this is not a big enough issue to lose a star. The glass is pretty thin which makes me handle it pretty delicately. As for the cleaning, as long as you rinse it out BEFORE the wine dries you should never have to scrub it like some people say. Then I place it upside down in my silverware holder of my normal dish drying rack (I rarely use my dishwasher for anything).

Winebreather Carafe Mar 13, 2012
By asakusagal This is our another wine-related gizmo for fun. It is very simple to use and works well. I like watching a wine from a bottle to the carafe. It is an entertainment!!

The Perfect Wine Breather System Feb 24, 2012
By John Padfield

I saw a demo of this system at a local vineyard during a tasting one afternoon. I was about ready to purchase it at MSRP, and my inner voice stopped me. "Research it!" After reading a number of reviews and asking a few friends who own vineyards here on the Central California Coastal wine region, I realized this was the ticket! I use it every week with our red wines and it does make a HUGE difference in the taste. I did a blind taste test going between two different reds, one, the ever-popular, Two Buck Chuck from Trader Joe's, and the second, a top rated Syrah. No contest! The breather system definitely makes a SIGNIFICANT difference. Menu Winebreather Carafe

Awesome wine lovers addition Feb 20, 2012
By lagunamama This carafe is fantastic. I gave it to my wine loving husband who has all the toys known to man for wine. He's thrown them all over for this - he loves decanting the wine into the carafe for dinner parties and shows it off. When it's just us he usually puts it back in the bottle although it stores very well in the carafe with the airtight seal. The dripless spout is great - we used to use the pourers that you put in a bottle but one fell out one night when a friend was pouring and it spilled all over the table cloth. Never again with this carafe - it catches the drip. In a word - this is a must for a wine lover!!
