Strong but kinda small Dec 12, 2010
By keysgirl These are smaller than a typical grocery bag which I did not realize when I ordered them- my fault I know. You can put a gallon of milk in them but it is wider than the bag which is unfortunate but not a major problem. I still find them to be very useful and they are strong in terms of outer fabric and handles. They fold flat because the plastic base is 2 pieces but they still stay flat bottomed and open when they are full. I like that they are not obnoxious colors or goofy patterns. The insulation seems pretty hefty to me- more than the thin insulated bags at some grocery stores- more like a true soft cooler. THere is a white lining that is separate from the insulation and can be pulled partly out (not separate from bag though) and easily be sprayed off at the sink and dried if something leaks in there. This plastic lining ripped in one of mine when I put my computer CPU in it- I know that is not what it is intended for but will be more careful with anything vaguely sharp cornered from now on! The rip did not go through the insulation or outer bag though- I think that would be very hard to rip!

good product Apr 21, 2011
By Melvin I bought these bags as a favor for a shower. They arrived ahead of schedule (very important since I ordered them on the late side for the date of the shower). They are far nicer than the pictures shows. The insulation is great inside and the straps seem extrememly durable. I didn't realize the velcro top until someone pointed it out to me. I received many compliments on this item -- and you cannot beat the affordability of its price. It is far superior to anything else even close to its price point. Excellent buy. Purchase more than you think -- you'll want more!

reliable May 13, 2010
By K. Turner This is a nice tote. It stands properly without collapsing on itself. The interior is waterproof. If you don't overfill it, you can use the velcro closure. Because of the quality of the cloth and the foodsafe interior lining, these are minimally insulated even though the manufacturer doesn't claim they are. I think these will last for a good while.

Great bag Jan 07, 2012

I love the Earthsac. It's attractive without being flashy, silly, or too glamorous; it is of a highly durable construction; the material cleans easily; the handles are as sturdy in my hands as they are comfortable, even when the bag is loaded with heavy items; and the thick insulation helps maintain food temperatures well.
The only reason I've taken off a star is the size. It is just wide enough to hold a gallon of milk, and has enough volume for additional groceries besides that, but overall it is small. Also note that, due to the insulated walls, folding the bag up to put it away, for example into another bag, makes the Earthsac just a little bulkier than a bag without insulated walls. So it's a little small when carrying groceries and a little big when trying to stow. The upshot of the tight fit is it keeps your groceries positioned nice and snug against each other as you fill your bag with delicate vegetables next to heavy packaged items--your tomatoes won't slip into the gap next to the canned tuna, only to be severed by said metal can, because with the Earthsac there is no gap. I'm not sure if I am describing this properly, but I do get a sense of reassurance as I slide my goods snugly into place and have them sit in a fitted organization without moving around as I carry them.
Also, while on my computer monitor the color displays as a beige with a tinge of green, make no mistake that the color of the bag is unmistakably mint, with darker, forest green trimmings around.
I think the Earthsac is especially great for picnics, mostly because of the insulation and light green color (which hides grass stains and other dirt well). Even for groceries, I love using this bag and would gladly purchase more, if I had additional arms to carry them on my walk from the grocery store to my apartment.

Excellent Purchase Aug 29, 2011
By D. I was very pleased with my purchase of the Earthsac Reusable Shopping Bag. The handles of the bag are very sturdy and comfortable in the hand. The insulation in the bag is very helpful and can be easily wiped clean if it gets dirty. The bag is not very heavy and the outside material of the bag is strong and durable. The bag is not big and bulky and its easy to fold and store away. I bought a couple of these when they were on sale and I am happy that I was able to find a bag that serves its purpose and I can do my part to save the planet as well.
