perfection in simplicity Nov 17, 2010
By m I have had one of these Two Prong Cork Pullers for almost 20 years. The brilliance is in the simplicity: You just put a blade on each side of the cork and rock them back and forth as you push them down around the cork. Then you simply twist slowly but firmly as you pull the cork out.
I've never had a cork not come out with this and I've never had one break or crumble. The cork comes out in one piece with no holes. At most you might see a pinch line in the side where the blade was pushed against it.
The only caveate about this type of wine puller is that you have to have two because one that is sized for US, Australian, South American, etc. wine bottles will not fit bottles from France and vice versa because the inner diameter is different. Do not try to force the wrong type or you can chip the glass.
Other than that caveate - which is a pretty small thing considering how cheap these are - these type of wine pullers are just about perfect.
Always trim the foil and/or any wax before using any puller and enjoy your wine!

Great Wine Cork Puller Mar 06, 2011
By Dag I will never use any other type of cork puller. You just insert the long prong, rock it back and forth until the handle is seated against the cork, and then slowly twist and pull the cork out. Quick and easy, no damage to the cork, and it doesn't cost an arm and a leg! Highly recommended!

Broke immediately Aug 22, 2011
By Bee349 We have had one of these for years and are experienced in using this type of opener. This one broke upon opening the second bottle of wine.
Save your money. May 14, 2012
By Scott The only thing this is good for is a bottle opener. Don't try opening a wine cork, for it doesn't do well at all. I had this same type before and loved it. I forgot who made it or I would try to find again. They may look the same but they truly are not.
cork puller Apr 14, 2012
By N. Pearson I purchased this because I thought it would be effective at pulling old or flaky corks. It is somewhat effective for that, but it's also difficult to use. It isn't and won't become my most-used corkscrew.
