These are very nice, modern looking coasters. They work well. However, I was under the impression that the acrylic was on the bottom of the coaster as well as the border, thus making a water-proof barrier between any condensation moisture and the table surface. The reason I assumed this is that the description reads "CORK LINED." The word LINED implies that there is an acrylic base under the cork. This is not the case at all. In actuality, the cork itself is the insert going from top to bottom, a fact not readily observed in the product picture, nor mentioned in the product description. Therefore, when the cork warps, as it inevitably will, it could fall out of the acrylic circle surrounding it, rendering the coaster useless.
Hint to the design guys--CHANGE THE PRODUCT DESCRIPTION UNTIL YOU PUT ACRYLIC ON THE BASE UNDER THE CORK INSERT for the working side.
Was disappointed, but will keep the coasters, as they are not worth returning.
I would not use these on fine wood tables, and would probably want to put a barrier between the cork and table--not practical, and defeating the purpose of this product.
On the positive side, the stand is a nice addition.

After redecorating our living room, I really wanted to pay attention to the details. We purchased a glass table and these coasters look beautiful on them. The coaster stand is a nice touch to keep them organized when they're not in use. They were affordable so I've since purchased two additional sets. We love them.
