Just right Mar 02, 2010 This butter dish is perfect. I have to agree with another reviewer, it can be used upside down to warm up in the microwave and because of this, I bought it. A few weeks before, I purchase a glass one, with four young kids and a husband, I should have known better. It didn't last more than 3 weeks. This dish I've observed is so large that it can probably hold creme cheese so I'm thinking of getting another one. Another thing is that the base can be used on both sides! When I want to cut the butter, I can put it on the raised side and cut it easily, when it's left out in the warmth it can be left on the creased side and if it melts a little the butter will not spill out. Lastly, it has survived the hands of children and husband.
Pros:
Harder to break
Cover can be used to melt butter
Base can be used to easily cut the butter on one side
Other side of base can catch melting butter
The cover itself can be used as a base when left out in the warm weather like on a picnic
Easy to clean

Impossible to pick up Feb 25, 2010 It's a butter dish. Does the job, but due to the design of the base, and the smooth, curved surface, there is no way to lift it off the table. Kinda weird. I got so aggravated with this, that I actually took the Dremel to it and cut a space out on each side so I could grip it.

pretty, but not so great Feb 02, 2010 Thought to replace our glass butter dish because the cover was hard to hold and was always sliding off.
Found the acrylic butter dish at Amazon and it looked perfect, however, after washing it in the dishwasher it has many tiny cracks. Still works okay, but for the price, I wouldn't recommend it

OK butter dish Jan 22, 2010 It's a perfectly fine butter dish. The main reason I got it is because the top is flat. It may sound strange, but I use a butter dish upside down. That's mostly so that butter doesn't spread all over when it gets too soft ( or I leave it in the microwave a little bit too long ). This makes a great upside-down butter dish.

Just what I wanted Dec 22, 2009 I love this butter dish! The butter sits on a small platform so it is easy to cut up. The lid fits snug around the platform that the butter sits on so if you accidentally knock it the lid doesn't fly off or slide the butter off the base. After repeated use you'll get fingerprints but as long as you wash it between sticks of butter that's no issue.
